If you’ve got a competitive streak that would put Usain Bolt to shame then sign up for the MYZONE workout. Not only will you get to burn calories, but you’ll also see how your efforts rate against other members in the gym – as thanks to the mini monitor you wear during your workout, your results will flash up on the screen on the wall.

After trialling the MYZONE quietly at its gym in Ibn Battuta, Fitness First has announced that it will be now rolling it to more of its gyms in Dubai including Motor City, DIFC, Dubai Festival City, Dubai Media City, Burjuman, Oasis Centre, Mirdif City Centre, Deira City Centre, Knowledge Village, Abu Dhabi Mall and Dalma Mall Abu Dhabi.

You do your regular workout, but the MYZONE helps you track and review progress. It gains all your information from the belt that you wear during your workout. Everything is recorded in real time, so as soon as you put on your belt and walk into the gym everyone can see how many calories you are really burning.

And just in case you missed your figures being flashed up on the big TV screen, your results are also emailed to you and logged on a cloud-based account, which acts as an online log book for you. If your gym buddy is up for a challenge, you can compete against each other, otherwise as you have your scores, you can compete against yourself.  And what’s even better news, is that you don’t need to work out in the gym. If you want to hit the bricks or try a bootcamp, the MYZONE will log all the calories you’ve burned on your outdoor activities too – it will just update your figures when you walk back into the gym.
